fishing villages, archaeological sites and
bustling tourist resorts. The most popular of
these is “Kusadasi” meaning Bird Island.
Idyllically located just 45 mins from Izmir
Airport and 90 mins from Bodrum Airport, both of
which offer regular flights from the Uk &
Ireland throughout the year.
This vibrant resort is beautifully set in a bay
overlooking the Greek Island of Samos. The
Harbour welcomes daily cruises liners from all
over the world making Kusadasi a busy shopping
port with an abundance of jewellery, leather &
Turkish Carpet shops. Along the main street,
fronted by the “Caravanseri” this old castle
dates back to the Ottoman Empire. The palm lined
promenade stretches from the harbour along the
seafront to the Yacht Marina which houses many
luxury private yachts.
The nightlife in Kusadasi has something to offer
every taste. For those wishing to savour the
relaxed traditional atmosphere, the old quarter
knows as the “Kaleici” offers small cosy bars
and restaurants. Bar Street attracts the young
and lively wishing to dance to the early hours
of the morning. Along the seafront overlooking
the beach, wonder into one of the many upmarket
cafes or restaurants.
Due to it’s close proximity to the ancient city
of “Ephesus” One of the Seven Wonders of the
World, Kusadasi attracts visitors all year
round. Dating back to the 3rd century
BC this incredible city brings history alive.
Wander down the main street following in the
foot steps of St John & St. Paul. The city
originally had a population of a quarter of a
million people and housed the large harbour in
Asia in those days. This Greek and roman city is
a must see.
Situated quite close to Ephesus you will find
the House of the Virgin Mary, where it is
believed the V. Mary spent her last days. Her
house has now been converted into a small church
where catholic mass is celebrated on a daily
basis.
Kusadasi has
gone from strength to strength over the past
number of years, with a huge increase of
visitors annually, high standard hotels being
opened and a lot of property development.
One very prominent development which will
benefit Kusadasi in the future is the
construction of the “Convention Centre”.
Situated just 4km from the resort centre on the
main airport road from Izmir. The Convention
Centre is planned as the largest certainly in
Turkey and possibly in Europe. As conventions
from all over the world come to Kusadasi, it
will generate year round business for the resort
and surrounding areas. The complex will include
numerous meeting halls, seminar centre,
restaurants, bars and a large 5* hotel.

Located
close by are 2 of the largest water
parks in Europe, Aqua Fantasy which also
has it’s own 5 star hotel on site

every year. Adaland is also situated in
the same area.
In
preparation for this, the single lane
road into the resort is now being
transformed to a motorway to cope with
the proposed increase of traffic. As it
will connect to the Motorway from Izmir,
it will also shorten the journey to the
airport. |

This new facelift they believe is in preparation
for the proposed increase of tourism and
business for the future.
It has now been confirm the Government have
arrange a long term lease on a large site of
land, which is situated on the outskirts of
Kusadasi on the airport road. The contract has
been taken by a large 5 star hotel chain with
the plan of building an 18 & 27 hole Golf
Course. Construction is due to start in the very
near future.
